k&k episode 119 - the one where they rock the horror... and stuff...

We spend most of episode 119 recounting our adventures at the Rocky Horror Picture Show in Paris!

show notes

There was everything from shocked frogs to rice in more sensitive places - but we also talk about a very dramatic fire at one of Paris' most famous shops, and the scandals surrounding Mr. Men!

We went to Polly Magoo's bar, and there's even a movie about someone called Polly Magoo.
Check out the website for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the Saturday night troupe, the Sweet Transvestites, at the Studio Galande in Paris!
Want to see some photographic evidence? Have a look at Katia's photos Kim's photos, and even the official photos taken by the cast! (Can you spot us in some incredibly awkward but truly hilarious positions? Clue : look for the boas and les lunettes magiques orange! The best ones are those with the water and rice flying everywhere, and towards the end, when one of our party was photographed in a very compromising position!)
You'll hear even more about the show in the podcast we've made for the next issue of Gadabout! We'll keep you posted on when it comes out!
The famous shop Deyrolle (english site) lost a huge amount of it's bizarre collection in a fire (french site)!
And check out Mr Rude on the Mr Men website, read about the scandal and tell us what you think.

This episode was brought to you by the word "horreur" (horror).

kim :

I think it was a George Clooney joke, you know, Clooney's little man, etc. Because there was a nescafé joke in there somewhere as well.

A lil' taxi bit, which tells a bit about the prices the licences sell at: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601085&sid=ahvEoX44A0wE&refer=europe

oh! yes. the "What Else?" thing. i actually laughed at that. which reminds me that i still have to go check out the 'new' nescafé café on the champs-elyssés.
