k&k episode 153 - the one where katia talks about visiting every pharmacy in Paris... and stuff...
It's all highly dramatic in episode 153, as Katia recounts a recent near-death experience and her subsequent visits to every single pharmacy in Paris, and we talk a bit about our different adventures with medical services in France. Katia then tells about a Japanese cooking class she did with the Muffin Man for his birthday, then we chat about a very nice review that was done of the podcast (who was the listener who told them about us? come on, 'fess up!), and finally Kylie tells us all about an unexpected Nouvelle Star sighting (definitely worthy of the BFF to the Stars group).
This episode was brought to you by the word "une pharmacie" (a pharmacy).
Katia and the Muffin Man did a cooking class at the Atelier des Sens
We got reviewed by That Podcast Show! (we're about 14 minutes in to the show if you want to listen)
Kyliemac met Katy from Nouvelle Star, and told us all about it on the Facebook BFF to the Stars group!
We love juice from the Zest Juice Bars
Whoa! I think you handled it really well I would have been going totally nuts and in complete hysteria! I think I need a tetnus update too actually...
How can the doctor make the patients go out and get the stuff for him? What's up with that?
I had an interesting pharmacie experience, also. I went to a pharmacie near Pére Lachaise where the pharmacist sold me my prescription medicine sans prescription. Then I tried several other places to get more, but they wouldn't hear of it without the prescription. I went back to the Pére Lachaise pharmacie, and though the original guy wasn't there, after a lengthy discussion among all the pharmacists and, evidently the owner, they again sold me the medicine sans prescription.

Oh Katia I feel your pain! Because of my blood type I had to have a shot within 24 hours of my miscarriage or I was in danger of never carrying a baby to term. Since I miscarried at night I had to go to the pharmacy back in Tiny Town the next morning and they didn't have my shot! I was so freaked out I nearly burst into tears but the pharmacist promised to have it delivered by 3pm that same day. The only good thing that came out of it is that an independent nurse made a house call that evening to give me the shot in my home. But the worst part? We were at a freaking hospital ER after I started to miscarry and they didn't even have the shot!!!
So.... yeah. I'm the first person with the "things are different in France" defense but I REALLY don't like that system at all!
