about katia and kyliemac original version (VO)

k&k episode 159 - the one where they speculate on why there are so many French people living in America... and stuff...

Victoria is still with us for episode 159, where we talk about intern applications, Gladiators, strange coincidences and what our dads like to do. Victoria then tells us all about her French learning experience, which derails into a discussion about english vs. american words, different book releases for different countries and being corrected in French, then Kylie and Victoria tell us about a unique garden museum visit they had and we discuss Victoria's first rhum-rhum experience.

This episode was brought to you by the word "une candidature" (a job application).

It's delurking day! Come on out of the woodwork, listeners, and tell us about yourselves, where you come from and maybe even send us a photo of where you listen to the podcast!

Great podcast... it's funny you spoke about writing in French formally. I am horrible at both writing and speaking formally. Sure I learned it, but at work we are so informal and I never speak with clients or anyone outside (if I do I am with a colleague who does all the talking). So I have a bad habit of speaking very informally because that is the version of French I hear all day, every day. So to all the French people out there, please don't be made if I tutoyer you! I need to work on it more, but my colleagues fill me full of so much slang it is almost impossible.

Hey Gals,

Great podcast!! I miss Victoria... I think she should move here!! : ) I really liked the info about the garden and museum on top of the Gare de Montp. because I am often in Montparnasse so now I will defin. have to visit them! Love the refer. to Leeeeeeeeeeeeesa... That's how I used to introduce myself in San Diego so that people would remember my name and the spelling.. So, it was funny hearing you guys say it.. Glad you were able to meet Anais.. she's a wealth of knowledge about Paris and a sweetheart!
I am going to have one of my students (an adult) listen to your podcasts for homework)! It will be great for her to listen to you guys!!
Anyhow.. that's about all for now.. Take care... Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesa

Bob :

Bibliotheque is shortened to biblio.

Go team Frog/Angela aka FROGELA!

PS: Victoria sounds like a wise woman and i also want her to move here. We'd be like one big happy family.

PS2: Why do you always talk about the best topics when I'm not around? And why do I always have to talk about M&Ms or graph paper?

;-)

Great podcast again [with the lovely Victoria as the guest].

The funniest thing according to me was hearing you all express surprise when you came to know of native French speakers pursuing a Masters in French in the USA, when KylieMac's major is in .... [c'mon, finish the sentence and you shall see why I was cracking up :)]

cheers,
-A

angela :

Hi Kyliemac! Hi Katia!

FROGELA? I like it! I think it rivals Brangelina and Bennifer anyday. Score one for FROGELA.

Thanks for the mention. I was in the bus, on my way to work, listening to ep 159 on my mp3 player and had to do my best "trying not to laugh or scream but really have to" face. Lol! I kept having to tell myself, "inside laughter, inside laughter, people are staring". Ah well, after a while, I stopped caring. Good fun!

Will intepretative dance be part of the interview? I can do a mean running man. :o)
