Yay NYC shout-out! It turns out 11am is too early for drinks, but I hope to have a K&K Manhattan Meet-Up soon. You two are much loved in NYC!
About the command/order thing for Christmas. Maybe you did not meet enough "low-class" french families. ;)
In my modest family, my parents were always insisting on the "asking" vocabulary, and on the fact that the gifts could be adapted 'cause Santa was not always able to find the right present, or understand very precisely my demand. ;))
Because, at the end I never got what I really wanted. Nevertheless I had great christmas, 'cause I have great mom and dad. :)
