about katia and kyliemac original version (VO)

k&k episode 209 - the one where they learn about foot fishing... and stuff...

We start off episode 209 by talking about an American expression that Katia is confused about, then Kylie talks about her New Years Eve experience, and Katia recounts the trip that she and the Muffin Man took to Brittany, which involved much seafood, fishing and giant rocks. But no marshmallows. Oh, and we have a guest. But he wasn't really supposed to be there.

This episode was brought to you by the word "la Bretagne" (Brittany).

We once sat on a plane at CDG for seven and a half hours because of snow.

Dudes. First of all, there is no accent on Bretagne! Second of all, listening to an entire podcast on fabulous Bretagne is = my worst nightmare. Third of all, I would never stand The Justin up - it is not my fault that I have seen every single movie out right now & there was not one for The Justin and I to go to. Fourth of all, I am still bitter you did not come & visit me in Bretagne while I lived there, because you missed my super-awesome personalized tour of Carnac & the dolmen. Fifth of all, like the Muffin man, I am olutely favorite place in France semi-offended that you called my absolutely favorite place in France "piddly". Sixth of all, just as an FYI, barely anybody speaks Breton fluently anymore and it's definitely not required at schools. Some schools do offer it & a few schools are bilingual français-breton, but it's something like 0,2% of the population that speaks it fluently. Seventh of all, I am now slightly depressed after listening to this episode.

See? It's so depressing that my post actually had to post itself twice for good measure!

oh ladies ladies, i'm going to have to send a big fat norman cow to sit on you!!!!

mont saint michel is NORMAN!!!!! it is in normandy loves.... oh yes, very depressing episode indeed!

@karina v.o. - actually i understood there was technically some debate about that...

Dudes, first of all, I must agree that the accent on Bretagne makes it sound very funny. Second of all, I love the fact that two American women yell at you about Breton and Norman geography, way to go girls, a little bit of cat fight always makes it juicy ;-). Third of all, I think that Ze Justin has a great radio voice and should be on more often. Fourth of all, it would've been nice to hear more about his story, but I guess it didn't happen cos he wasn't planned (and you made it quite clear throughout the episode...) Fifth of all, I loved the fact that you called Quiberon piddly, (a little bit of controversy is always welcome on the K&K show), although I don't even know what piddly means.
Last of all, I thought you had an intern in Rennes ie half-way between Mt St Michel and Carnac? Had you contacted her to find out more about the region, we would have avoided having two very depressed listeners now!

Kyliemac- it is only a point of dispute for the Bretons ;-)

No, but technically it is Norman :-)

Yessssss, I'm behind on episodes and am just listening to this now. I'm so happy about this episode about Bretagne! I think you definitely have to come back to Leah's Bretagne...I'm thinking Cancale, St. Malo, Dinard, Dinan, Fougeres, Vitre, etc and, of course, RENNES!

Bisous bretons,
Leah

PS-Mont St Michel may not be in Brittany, but Nantes is! ;)
