k&k episode 229 - the one where they talk about their mini-break in Normandy... and stuff...
We take the show on the road in episode 229 and tell you all about our spontaneous mini-break in Normandy. From our "country house" and with the lovely Kathryn by our side we talk about last-minute holiday planning, gîtes (and lots about how to find them and what to expect), travelling around France and more!
This episode was brought to you by the word "un gîte" (self-catering accomodation).
Guest host : Kathryn
We stayed in an absolutely awesome gîte in Villequier, Normandy (gite n° 5005). VERY highly recommended. You can find more gîtes at gitesdefrance.com.
c'est UN gîte les filles !! (let's just chalk it up to the cowboys *S*)
oooooooooooooo I am so jealous! that sounds great. so sad, I can't go anywhere really nice in 1-2 hours. sigh
Hope you had fun!
Thanks for the info on gîtes! I will definitely check that out! I was going to rent an apartment for 5 weeks this fall and I found a great site called Vacation Rentals By Owner (www.vrbo.com).
Some of the places are really reasonable especially if you stay for at least 30 days but I just don't know which arrondissement to stay in yet.
They have places ALL over the world too!
Love,
janilani

Oh I so want to go on a mini-break right now... I have three day weekends for the first two weekends in May so I need to find somewhere to go for those weekends now!
