k&k episode 241 - the one where they talk about the mini-break challenge... and stuff...
We start off episode 241 by celebrating the birthday month of May and getting tremendously excited about the launch of k&k get blogged. We chat about tic tacs and coffee bean incidents, then get into a lengthy (and sometimes heated) discussion of the mini-break challenge, with entries like rum-soaked wafers, strange vegetables and Suze!
This episode was brought to you by the word "une gaufre" (a waffle).
If you haven't checked out k&k get blogged, what are you waiting for? We write about Suze and eau de vie de fraises des bois and other drinkables.
Okay, Suze is made with Great Yellow Gentiane. I guess it would taste pretty much the same as the German's "Enzian". I haven't tried it, but I have heard a lot of people say that you have to go past the first glas, then it will really grow on you (notwithstanding the alcohol influence).
Suze is my mum's favorite apéritif, but most of the french finds it too bitter. I know there are many cocktails that sweeten this bitter taste.
There is a french region, Auvergne in the center, that is launching their own Cola (just like the Breizh Cola you might have experienced in Brittany) and it is based on... GENTIAN !! Hence, it might taste a little bit like Suze. :)))

OMG. Pauvre le MM! I did THE SAME THING! (with the "coffee chocolate). Deceptively and ill packaged they were. Tsk Tsk Tsk.
