k&k episode 43 - the one where they get a bit royal... and stuff...

We've got special guest Princess Genevieve in the studio for episode 43.

show notes

After singing a couple of rousing renditions of Happy Birthday, we recount some of the exciting exploits we've been up to around Paris, including a visit to the Orangerie and an encounter with the museum Gestapo, and we also chat with Genevieve about her experiences when she lived as a student in France.

This episode was brought to you by the phrase "joyeuse anniversaire" (happy birthday).

While listening to the first half of the podcast I wanted ask if you have been drinking, and, well, you answered my question. Good on you gals. You guys sound extra peppy on those days. Hee, hee.And the peeing fountain? I have one up on you guys. TWO status peeing facing each other! Will send photo. What was I doing listening to your podcast? Eating chocolate! Ms. KM is a bad influence, but soooo much fun. Cheers

I just listened to this - am quite relieved I don't sound too dorky! (slightly dorky, which is fine.) twas super fun recording this!

ang: TWO peeing statues? :: giggling :: who thought THAT would be a good idea? are they battling? wait! no. i DON'T even want to go there... :)gen: you don't sound dorky at all! next time you're in town we'll go on the sewer tour! :)

Genevieve - it was great to hear you on the podcast! Have a good rest of your time in Brussels and I look forward to seeing you when you get back. And in the birthday vein, happy birthday tomorrow!

Kyliemac, you're right, it is Gestapo with a "sht-" sound. The German "st" combination is more like a "sht" sound...like das FrŸhstŸck! (breakfast, pronounced like "froohshtook" - there's no equivalent in English to the German u/umlaut sound). What's more mysterious is the Muffin Man's name...why is he the Muffin Man? Does he covet muffins? Perhaps he makes great muffins. I prefer cupcakes. :0l
