haunts
This is a list of restos, bars, museums and other places we like to hang out and visit in Paris. They are by no means the best of the best places to go, and we hardly pretend to be experts on where to go and what to see, but we've tried all the places on this list and we like 'em. If you know of places that you think we should try out, let us know!
Restaurants and bars we like to hang out at
Mirama (5e), Cantonese, the prawn dumpling soup is so delish
Zest Juice Bar (5e), juice and smoothies, run by a lovely Australian girl and her husband
Baan Boran (1er), Thai
Breakfast in America (5e & 4e), American Diner
Hokkaido (1er), Japanese, no sushi/brochettes, just lots of delicious noodle and rice dishes
Le Louchebem (1er), French, known for good steaks and the famous "donkey balls" (eggs in a bowl of cream)
La Perla (4e), laid-back Italian. Try the fig ravioli.
Heureux comme Alexandre (5e), fondue and racelette (if you can't get to the Alps, go here for a fondue fix, but make sure you only go in the winter!)
Sergent Recruteur (4e), super touristy, but interactive and fun with French home food (make sure you book in the tourist season!)
Vallée du Kashmir (14e), Indian, great atmosphere. Try the butter chicken. Mmm. They'll make it spicier for you if you ask.
Lal Qila (15e), Indian, fantastic food, unbelievably kitch, but worth going to just for the décor. They'll also make it spicier for you too.
El Sol Y La Luna (5e), Argentinian, fresh ingredients, super cheap lunch menus, ridiculously hilarious décor.
