k&k episode 70 - the one where they do Kim's Quiz... and stuff...

With the foxy Kim at the helm, we play a special "four to six servings per day game" she made up, based on French Idioms. And in amongst discussions about cabbage and pastries and asparagus, we talk about red-heads and freckles and other random things. By the end of episode 70 you'll all be experts in the French idioms - and seriously, aren't you excited? Who knew you could actually learn some French when listening to this podcast?! (Show links)

This episode was brought to you by about sixty-million different words, but we've chosen just one for you, "mon chou" (my dear/my cabbage).

Kim :

Okay, I sucked because the book you have linked to is so not the book I was talking about. This is the one I was talking about:http://www.amazon.fr/Dictionnaire-expressions-locutions-Alain-Rey/dp/2850364606/ref=sr_1_13/402-2704423-6403304?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186635975&sr=1-13

Ohh, this episode was SO interesting! There was quite a few that I didn't know. And I think you can say "溝 co柎e la peau des fesses" in front of kids - the vulgar versions are much worse, ie. "溝 co柎e la peau du cul" or "溝 co柎e la peau des couilles". Other more family-friendly ones are "溝 co柎e les yeux de la t腎e" or "溝 co柎e la peau du dos".

i found this phrase "avoir un coeur d'artichaut" ("to have the heart of an artichoke") - meaning to fall easily and often in love. origin - the heart identified here is a 'heart' of the vegtable, the core of the artichoke, of which the numerous leaves detach, one for each person present.kim. you don't suck. (that much!) haha.sam. the vulgar versions. :: snickers :: haven't heard those!

this is really interesting! There is a restaurant here in Bruxelles called Raconte-moi des salades... I wonder if its named for telling lies?
