k&k episode 89 - the one where Kylie is outnumbered... for once... and stuff...
It's taken 89 episodes, but we've finally got Tracey, another Australian, on the show (and boy, is Katia happy, because she's finally not the odd one out). We have some fascinating conversations scattered liberally with Australianisms (and Kyliemac stares at the goings-on with round eyes - who knew she could be lost for words?), what it was like for Tracey to be brought up as a bilingual English/Italian-speaking child, the perception of far-away foreign countries by the French, multi-cultural America and Australia, then Katia recounts a recent trip she had to the north of France. There's a lot of stuff going on in episode 89, so grab a cup of tea (or a vodka and orange, whatever floats your boat), pull up a chair and join us in the coffee table studio! (Show links)
This episode was brought to you by the word "bilingue" (bilingual).
I was cracking up with your discussion of how "How're you going?" doesn't make sense to American ears. I was in Australia this spring, and everytime someone said that to me, I wouldn't quite know how to respond! I knew what they meant, but it just didn't sound right... To an american, you either say "How're you doing?" or "How's it going?" but how do "you" go? I don't know...
I think you know what kind of sauce I, or rather, that person meant. Btw, I gots another dear for you...Dear K&K,You know what else makes the time go by faster during the podcasts? The sauce!PS-When you say you're having M&Ms before/during the podcast, does that mean like Mojitos and Margaritas?Love,"Anonymous"

Oh, lawdy, I was actually thinking abuot frogging my Clapotis already...but I'll think about it first. ;-pSo, KylieMac, when are you joining us on Ravelry? We should open up a K&K group there. ;-)
