about katia and kyliemac original version (VO)

k&k episode 90 - the one where Katia finally wins a pronounciation war... and stuff...

We're delighted to still have Tracey with us in the coffee table studio for episode 90, especially because the Australianisms are flying all over the place, and poor Kyliemac gets stuck smack bang in the middle of it all. We discuss the pronounciation of certain words and what French people living in Australia think of Australians, then we have an impromptu Italian cooking lesson with Tracey. We also talk about how Tracey and Pierre are preparing to move back to Australia, then chat about apartment sizes and relationships with neighbours in Paris. (Show links)

This episode was brought to you by the word "les voisins" (the neighbours).

Gosh, I don't know where to start! Lemme see here...Re: Troyes and the bouchons - I only know what they tell me! Re: bolognaise vs. ragu - y'all had our American ragu at my place that one time, remember? It mostly consists of tomatoes, garlic & onion, beef cubes, a bit of pork on the bone for flavor and sausage (though we use the wrong kind of sausage here!). No wine, sadly, but plenty of parmesano reggiano. :) I think I posted the recipe on my blog once. Re: StŽph and the olives - he was totally jerking your chains, dearies! He's got a little devil in him, sometimes. :)

Manue :

Hi girls,I totally understand what you are saying about size of apartments in Paris and how people can raise a family in those tiny flats. I actually noticed that when I came back from Australia to see my family in Paris and some friends. My brother has two daughters in a small flat and I can't figure out how he doesn't go crazy? But finding a place to leave in Australia is not that easy either, in big cities. We were thinking of buying something in Sydney but the prices have gone up so quickly lately that it is impossible to find something nice and not too far from work... :-)Love your podcast by the way, really funny sometimes.
