k&k episode 473 - the one where they talk about napping... extensively... and stuff...

In episode 473 we talk more about our plans for episode 500, then discuss napping. Extensively. We wonder who would use the ZZZ Zen Bar in Paris where you can take a nap, and get very excited about the nap pods you can find in some airports around the world.

k&k episode 472 - the one where they discuss white nights and not riding bikes... and stuff...

In episode 472 Katia talks about meeting a listener of the show, we reveal our plans for episode 500 (how do YOU deal with the crazy person sitting next to you on the plane? Tell us now!), we talk about white night and trying to find a taxi, and Autolib', the new short term car rental scheme around Paris, inspired by the Vélib.

k&k episode 456 - the one where they talk about what to do with the parental figures... and stuff...

In episode 456 we discuss visiting haunted houses, parental visits, what to do with people who have visited Paris multiple times, Paris Plage and boats!

In episode 421 we decide to discuss a recent spate of attempted robberies and muggings experienced by some of the people in our entourage, which leads to a lengthy discussion about how different ways to stay safe in a big city, whether you're a tourist or a resident.

k&k episode 419 - the one where they get heated about Versailles... and stuff...

Ryan is still with us in the studio for episode 419, and the absolute chaos continues as he makes us try yet another Suze-based cocktail. This makes us question how much Ryan's friendship actually means to us, but we get over it quickly as Kylie tells us all about her Versailles history classes this semester! This leads to a very heated debate about one of the Versailles outbuildings being turned into a luxury hotel.

k&k episode 418 - the one where they are grossed out by suze-hitos and bed bugs... and stuff...

With the dapper Ryan in the studio for episode 418, things very quickly descend into chaos. Under his terribly bad influence we taste-test a Suze-based cocktail and grimace at the cameras quite a bit, then we chat about his current "look" (just in time for Paris Fashion Week) and about unique accommodation experiences and the fear of bedbugs! Ew!

k&k episode 416 - the one where they discuss excess baggage and weight limits... and stuff...

After a discussion on the merits of sidecars, in episode 416 we tackle the topics of excess baggage, paying for overweight luggage and extra seats, and airline reactions to joke bomb threats.

k&k episode 415 - the one where they talk about flight etiquette and top chef contestants... and stuff...

With Steve still in the studio for episode 415, we get into some serious rantage about flight etiquette - turning off electronics, respecting the seatbelt sign, trying to get on and off the plane... We then chat about a recent adventure at the newly opened O Chateau wine bar and an encounter with a 2011 French Top Chef contestant.

k&k episode 414 - the one where they talk Valentines and holidays... and stuff...

In episode 414 we're thrilled to chat to our lovely friend Steve, and whilst we sip mimosas and munch on oatmeal cookies, we discuss a wide range of topics such as Valentines Day, declarations of love and the worst presents we've ever received (or given), then we chat about Sarkozy's recent decision that all French ministers should give priority to holidaying in France.

k&k episode 413 - the one where they discuss Denmark and passports... and stuff...

After our discussion on applying for nationality in the previous episode, we decide to tackle the controversial immigration laws in Denmark in episode 413, we debate and compare French and Danish laws, then talk about the percentage of passport holders in countries around the world and wonder why the number of American passport holders is a bit lower than other countries.

k&k episode 396 - the one where they talk about names and the snowpocalypse... and stuff...

It's pure k&k in episode 396 as we discuss given names, middle names and nicknames, then spend a great deal of time talking about the recent record snowfall in Paris and why Paris is so ill equipped to deal with snow, and the various consequences it had on various things around town, and finally Katia then talks about a snow-related dilemma she may have to deal with this week.

k&k episode 391 - the one where they talk about improving language skills and guinness world records... and stuff...

In episode 391 we have a long chat about what Kylie is doing this year to improve her French - from her classes at La Sorbonne and the language exchange at Arc, to seeing movies in French and watching French tv. She recounts what happened at the Paris Urban Adventures charity event, then we talk about Guinness World Records and reading papers on public transport.

k&k episode 390 - the one where they discuss french gastronomy and unesco... and stuff...

We get rather excited in episode 390 as we talk about all the recent guests we've had on the show and the guests to come, then we what about the fascinating topic of French gastronomy, the recent addition of the "gastronomic meal of the French" to the Unesco list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the differences between our native cultures and the French culture of eating (how the meal is eaten and the purposes behind the meal), then we chat about other entries on the Unesco list in France and around the world.

k&k episode 358 - the one where they rant about beavers and bitches... and stuff...

In episode 358, the final recording in the k&k boudoir, we continue talking about Craigslist, Kylie tells about a recent Disney adventure, Katia laments the invasion of beavers in Paris, we talk about eating horse and a recent horse meat controversy in Australia, Katia tells about an unfortunate encounter with a total bitch in the supermarket, then we talk about what we're going to miss about the k&k boudoir.

k&k episode 345 - the one where they talk about chores and things to do... and stuff...

In episode 345 we continue talking about language and regional differences, we discuss what chores we did as children and the ways we got out of doing chores, Kylie gives us a paper translation update, we chat about some of the things we want to do around Paris and France this summer and we do a WITWATAP update!

k&k episode 343 - the one where they talk about old wives tales and movies... and stuff...

Episode 343 starts off with a discussion of a French old wives tale, then we talk about the Apéro Géant scandal, chaos on trains this week, and whether movies should be remade for different countries or adjusted according to the audience, then discuss a popcorn drama and hear a confession from Katia.

k&k episode 342 - the one where they talk about going green, art theft and cabarets... and stuff...

In episode 342 Kylie tells us how the translation of her paper is going, then we chat about the news, from the Champs Elysées going green, to biking in Paris and art thefts, and finally we talk about surprise birthdays, mammals, Billy the Exterminator and cabarets!

k&k episode 341 - the one where they talk about love locks, strikes and words... and stuff...

In episode 341 we try to find a solution for Katia's voicemail dilemma, then chat about the love lock drama on the Pont des Arts and students striking about a phantom holiday change! Kylie tells us how her paper translation is going, which leads to a lengthy discussion about translating certain words and the misuse and overuse of certain English words in French (and vice versa).

k&k episode 337 - the one where they talk about flags and patriotism... and stuff...

In episode 337 we get to talking about culture again, Kylie tells us what she is doing this summer, we give an update on the robbery that happened at Opéra a few weeks ago, Katia makes a mess of a story about something that happened with a fnac contest and the French flag and we talk about our respective perceptions of our national flags, national anthems and national pride.

k&k episode 336 - the one where they discuss allergies, may day and movies... and stuff...

Things get heated in episode 336 as we debate the use of the words "allergies" and "hayfever", then we get to chatting about May Day, manifestations, national holidays, itunes and movies. Katia calls out Kyliemac for not having seen any French movies lately, then we talk about museums and attempts to get cultured.

k&k episode 335 - the one where they discuss post party parties and dilemmas... and stuff...

In episode 335 we get to chatting about birthday months and the consequences of volcanic ash clouds, post party parties including listeners making the most of being stuck in Paris and Janilani's fantabulous gumbo party. Katia tells a story where she was too quick to judge, Kylie presents us with a grocery store dilemma and Katia asks what she should have done in an office drama.

We're rather excited in episode 332 as we discuss the upcoming celebration for episode 333! We chat about the info sheet and the various prizes up for grabs as part of the 333 celebration, and about our brand new mike flags (thanks to Canadian Peter!), then we go on a customer service rant and get sidetracked by a discussion about American English. With the lovely Steve in the k&k boudoir for episode 329, we chat about Katia's upcoming surgery, phone calls vs text messages vs emails and heinous technical difficulties. We've still got Stephen Clarke in the studio for episode 314, and he continues to regale us with tales from his upcoming book, 1000 Years of Annoying the French - including dubious battle strategies, the taking of Calais, the truth behind Napoleon's height and Joan of Arc's demise, how Louisiana got sold and the secrets behind Sarkozy's recent visit to England. We then discuss why the French are so proud of their language, the evolution of written French in letters, emails and text messages and the immortels behind deciding what's French and what's not.

We get very excited about episode 250 with the lovely Vivi. In episode 223 we get to talking about frame hunting, monkey heads, weekends of fun, the drink of the year, our recent adventures at a french food fair (with plenty of cognac and other delicious things), daffodils, the weather and general strikes.

As requested, things get gossipy in episode 219 when as we talk about Carla Bruni's plans to have a baby, which leads to a lengthy discussion about our friend Kimmeh's current dilemma - trying to choose a baby name that is pronouncable in both English and French. We also get to chatting about refrigerators and food expos.

k&k episode 218 - the one where they talk about Paris getting bigger... and stuff...

With our mouths full of Tim Tams we get into a heated discussion in episode 218 about the definition of Paris and its suburbs and plans to change this definition, led by the ever-provocative Frog with a Blog. We talk a little about the way the economic crisis is affecting Paris and get excited about Nouvelle Star.

k&k episode 211 - the one where they rant about courants d'air... and stuff...

Episode 211 is one of those episodes where one derailment leads to another which leads to another and then it all goes downhill from there: snow, scarves, mini-skirts, courants d'air (drafts), overheating and slippers. This all leads to a tutoyer and vousvoyer debate, which leads to a discussion of how people should correct us when we speak French. We then talk about webbed toes, work doctors and strike days.

k&k episode 205 - the one where they try to decide between macarons and chocolates... and stuff...

After talkng at length about rhum-rhums and everything in between, we pretend to be cultured for a while in episode 205, as we discuss a recent theatre outing where we watched Frog and Colin perform marvellously as we drank champagne out of plastic cups.

k&k episode 184 - the one where they learn more about being naughty in Paris... and stuff...

You might want to leave your virtues at home (and not just at the door) in episode 184, because Heather Stimmler-Hall of Naughty Paris is still with us! We find out about classy places to buy sex toys in Paris (as opposed to the dodgy ones), the hottest swinger clubs and romantically sexy restaurants in town. Heather tells us some of the behind the scenes stories, including encounters at fetish and s&m clubs, then we get into a discussion about the merits of pole dancing classes.

Check your virtues at the door - in episode 183, we're very pleased to welcome Heather Stimmler-Hall, the writer of Naughty Paris, A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City, into the Coffee Table Studio! We talk about the history of Paris as a sexy city, what makes French women so darn attractive, how easy it is to let your hair down when you're away from home, anglophone drinking tendencies as opposed to French drinking behaviour, and finally, Heather tells us about her inspiration for the book and some of the "behind the scene" stories.

Episode 131 starts off with Kyliemac telling us all about her visit to the Grand Palais to see the Marie Antoinette exhibit.
